Portrait
When I create something, I normally start with a general idea, such as flowers, or a certain person. So, when we were given the project, I immediately thought about my aunt who I'd spent the summer with. I found a picture of her and my cousin that I adore, and I started working. First, I sketched everything in my stretch book. I decided I was going to either use chalk pastel or colored pencil. I ended up picking colored pencil and a black piece of drawing board to create my portrait. I used bright colors to express how lively my aunt and cousin are. I made most of the colors warm, to help show how happy they were when the picture was taken. I struggled with the faces a lot, and ended up having Sudkamp help me, lol. Unfortunately, I never finished, but I will eventually, hopefully. I think I was successful in capturing the moment, but unsuccessful with other elements, such as the faces, which were really difficult for me to do. Altogether, I think I did rather well.
